-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 SuSE 9.0. KDE used to have a button on the panel accessed a list of items in the Documents folder. When I installed 9.0 (fresh install), that button disappeared. I can see how to put a "recent documents" icon on the panel, but I don't see any way to return the old Documents list to the panel. I know I can put a Konqueror button referencing Documents there, but that is a lot slower - and defaults to showing icons instead of a simple file list. Does anyone know how to get the Documents icon back? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAsmoEjeziQOokQnARAhgbAJ9Vv3NGvITNp6m4vgRmVVsC4XvQmQCeLNym fiIM9J7VzemI3VGji+tpGgM= =+7xx -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Can you not just create a directory using konqueror (called "documents" if you like) and then drag it into the panel? Jake

Absolutely. Of course that will cause Konq to load each time I click it - very slow by comparison. It also opens a window of icons instead of the simple file list that we used to have. The change is a giant step backward. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAso6XjeziQOokQnARAsAaAJ9Z//aLvxMq1P7+1k6cE+6El0Uc/QCeIaSy fRWsef1sEdka30PDsK7MdbA= =N+gd -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Right-click on the panel and select Add->Special Button->Quick Browser, and set it to point to your $HOME/Documents directory. Is that what you're looking for?

That's it! Thanks again, Anders. If you're ever in my area, dinner is on me! -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAsrANjeziQOokQnARAuOxAJ4+eHSMl3PxQ0e3Jzx6JK5WH/zMAwCggo2P wgw32N58Vy8nJ/72IDZYpM0= =AIWl -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

However, try adding something into Documents, and lo', no update in the Quick Browse menu. This one has needled me for a while now. Only way to update is to log out and back in, or remove and recreate the button. -- Steve Boddy

I can't recreate that here. I entered the Documents directory, created a new text document, closed the Konq window and the quick browser immediately updated. Don't know why your's doesn't. -- Bryce Hardy (Santa Rosa, CA USA) cygnia@sonic.net

Well I'll be damned! Things working here too. Definitely didn't work under 9.0, and I could have sworn I tried it under 9.1. <shrug> <contented smile> -- Steve Boddy

What you want is the Quick Browser: Right-click the panel and Add>>Special Button>>Quick Browser and then specify the Documents Directory as the starting point. Bryce Hardy (Santa Rosa, CA USA) cygnia@sonic.net
