How are you logged in? On my RH machines screensavers do not work as root. Don't know about SuSE...

Hi again, Sorry for the stupid question BUT I am still a very newbie: My screensaver in KDE2 doesn't work and I have no idea where to even look. I set it up in the menus at Preferences>look and feel> screensaver, and all that happens is that at the appropriate time the screen freezes up. It unfreezes in exactly the same manner as would a screensaver; that is, if I move the mouse or touch a key, the screen updates, the clock moves from the time at which the desktop froze to the current time. This would seem to indicate it's TRYING to turn on the screensaver but something's bl ocking it. Can anyone offer any advice?
