They install and work great. I would get one with a real parallel port cable, to avoid any USB glitches. I have a Dj930c and it works great with cups. -- I'm not really a human, but I play one on earth.

My DJ930c work great with LPRng. -- Jan Elders Nuenen the Netherlands
Another advantage to HP inkjets: the printhead is built into the ink module, so if the printhead gets fouled, you can throw out the whole ink module and get a new one, with a new printhead. That way, you can also refill the ink module with impunity; if the printhead gets clogged up, thropw the whole works out and start with a new genuine HP ink module. I had to throw out an Epson printer, alsmost new, because the printhead got clogged up. It's not feasible to get anything short of a refrigerator or a washer repaired nowadays. --doug At 21:06 08/06/2003 +0200, Jan Elders wrote:

I run a HP 690C with LPng - I have never been able to get CUPS to work on my copy of SuSE 8.0 Pro. One snag - if you want to print DL envelopes you will be disappointed, unless you perform the following hack. 1 The only driver that I know that supports DL envelopes is 'cdj550' - HPijs does not. 2 The ghostscript interpreter - a program that converts Postscript into PCL - has to be hacked. This is because DL envelope is not defined as a paper size. To do this, edit the file /usr/<local>/share/ghostscript/<version>/lib/gs_statd.ps add the following line /EnvDL {312 624 //.setpagesize exec} bind def between the lines STRICT { (%END SIZES) .skipeof } if % Other page sizes and %END SIZES and /EnvDL between STRICT { (%END SIZES) .skipeof } if /a0 /a1 /a2 /a5 /a6 /a7 /a8 /a9 /a10 and %END SIZES Note the capitalisation of EnvDL Why even the latest version (8.00) of Ghostscript does not support DL envelopes is beyond me. Hope this helps Basil Fowler On Wednesday 06 Aug 2003 17:23, Jesse Purdom wrote:
