I have Xmanager, but I'm not able to get my suse "Desktop" work on it? Anywone manage to do that? Btw, I'm using suse 8.1 and the xmanager is up and running now. A note is that I don't just only want to open an xterm, I want the login screan to appear etc. br Alexander

I'm not doing that currently, but if you search the archives for xdmcp and cygwin I think you will find some old threads where I was asking the same question about SuSE 8.0. Further, I'm now using 8.2, and I have a [Xdmcp] entry in: /opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc Mine was set to false. Setting it to true may be enough to do the trick. I've forgotten. There is a checkbox in YaST2:Security and Users:Security Settings called "Allow Remote Graphical Login". That would set up the remote system to offer but how you invoke it from the local X server...? -- Michael James michael.james@csiro.au System Administrator voice: 02 6246 5040 CSIRO Bioinformatics Facility fax: 02 6246 5166
