Hi,
I've just updated my system from SuSE 9.3 to 10.1, but when I start DigiKam, I get the following error message:
Failed to update old Database to new Database format
I've tried deleting db files where I could find them, but to no avail. It will run without a problem as root, but not as a user.
I need some guidance, please.
Thanks,
Craig
Look in your 'album' directory (the root of where digikam looks for its albums.
Delete the digikam.db file.
If you've already done that and it doesn't fix the problem, then
you could delete or rename the directory:
<home>/.kde/share/apps/digikam
I've already done both of those. I even created a new (empty) 'album' directory, and logged in using a different user. So I'm still lost with this one. Any other suggestions? Thanks.
Well it must be finding a digikam.db somewhere. Use locate *digikam.db to find it. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. Hi Craig & Bruce, FWIW: I just launched digikam 0.8.1 here for the first time under 10.1 and it defaulted to creating a '~/Pictures' directory and landing a "digikam3.db" in it. 'file' reports it as an SQLite database (Version 3) Carl
