I'm having trouble mounting my tape drive because I don't know the file system type on the tape. Does anyone know how I can find out what file system the tape is using? Thanks, Jerome

I don't think a tape can be mounted (but someone will probably prove that wrong) They can be used as streaming devices without being mounted. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. I have never seen a tape drive with a file system on it (it would be to slow). You don't mount tapes drives you just backup to them and read data from them. -- Ken Schneider unix user since 1989 linux user since 1994 SuSE user since 1998 (5.2)
