I think, sendmail is just dead on both rly-mx2.maxis.net.my and rly-mx1.maxis.net.my. Both hosts are up, but nothing listens on port 25. So it looks like their problem, not yours. All you can do is just contact their (maxis.net.my) sysadmin. Ah, how I did it. To find out who serves as mail exchange for maxis.net.my use command: nslookup -typ=mx maxis.net my The reply will be something like: Server: xxxxxx.xxx.xxxx Address: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Non-authoritative answer: maxis.net.my preference = 10, mail exchanger = rly-mx1.maxis.net.my maxis.net.my preference = 10, mail exchanger = rly-mx2.maxis.net.my Authoritative answers can be found from: maxis.net.my nameserver = ns1.maxis.net.my maxis.net.my nameserver = ns2.maxis.net.my rly-mx1.maxis.net.my internet address = 202.75.130.117 rly-mx2.maxis.net.my internet address = 202.75.130.118 ns1.maxis.net.my internet address = 202.75.129.101 ns2.maxis.net.my internet address = 202.75.129.102 Then to check if sendmail is listening do: telnet 202.75.130.117 25 Most probably you'll get the same ``connection refused'' which means that nobody listens on SMTP port on that machine. And of course, ping is your friend to find out if the host is up. -Kastus On Thu, Feb 22, 2001 at 11:05:39AM +0800, Lim Seow Keang wrote:

Sendmail on rly-mx2.maxis.net.my is configured to not allow relaying from your machine.
It maybe an error in rly-mx2.maxis.net.my configuration.
I just checked with nslookup, rly-mx2.maxis.net.my is the correct mail exchanger for maxis.net.my. So it definitely looks like misconfiguration.
