Paul, you seem to have identd running. It belongs to pidentd RPM. If you don't want to uninstall package, look for IDENT in /etc/rc.config file and set that variable to "no". -Kastus On Wed, Feb 21, 2001 at 07:59:36PM -0600, Jerry Kreps wrote:

Port 113 auth is for identd. It's ONLY used really for IRC servers that require it. It's really not needed. You can go into /etc/rc.config and disable it by setting it to no in this file..... * Paul Zimdars (pzimdars@demon.zimcity.net) [010221 17:53]: =>What it is for and what does it do? 113 auth => =>How do I disable it? => =>thanks => =>-p => => =>-- =>To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com =>For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com =>Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq => -- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org ----- Kernel 2.2.18-6 : Mutt 1.3.12i : KDE 2.1 Beta2 : Peace of Mind ----- If two men agree on everything, you can be sure that only one of them is doing the thinking.
