How do I setup my mouse to run under GPM? Basically I want to know how to enable GPM and configure it correctly, I have a wheel mouse, two button (three if you count the wheel), it’s ps/2, and I'm running SuSe 8.1 with KDE 3. I just issued following as root: rcgpm start I have same mouse and gpm recognized and correctly configured. NOTE: Occasionally my KDE desktop starts acting funny, the KDE Panel will expand and contract and my mouse will not function normally on the desktop. SOLUTION: Open a terminal screen, tty1-6, and as root do: rcgmp restart. Usually solves everything. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://home.indy.rr.com/paka @ http://counter.li.org icq#173753138

I simply switch to a terminal screen, as yo say, but then just switch back to X (Alt-Ctrl-F7), not touching the mouse till the desktop fully redraws. The mouse is back to normal then :-) -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
