I don't think 10.2 even uses hotplug. IIRC, it was deprecated in 9.3 or 10.0. There's something like usbfs or udev that replaced it. All I know is USB support under 10.1/10.2 is excellent. I have several machines, each utilizing either onboard card readers, plug in memory keys and or usb hard drives. Since 10.1, the support for such devices has been great. AFAIK, it is controlled by the desktop you use, either gnome or kde. Each user has to manually dissable it there, for each type of device that usb can provide. - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
