[opensuse] Software Updater not updating
Hi all, first off, happy new year 2007 to everybody! :-) I've been away from my email so please bear with me when this subject has already been discussed before... On my OpenSuSE 10.2 the Software Updater announces some online updates. So far, so good... When I click on the "Update" button for the process to start it complaints about not being able to resolve some package dependencies... huh... Maybe this happened to someone else and this may help to solve his/her problem: -----] start of pasted text Unresolved dependencies: Updating MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0-30.i586[System packages] to MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0.0.1-0.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Updating MozillaFirefox-2.0-30.i586[System packages] to MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Installing patch:MozillaFirefox-2418-0.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Updating supertux-0.1.3-45.x86_64[System packages] to supertux-0.3.0-1.guru.suse102.x86_64[20061215-222706] There are no installable providers of libphysfs-1.0.so.1()(64bit) for supertux-0.3.0-1.guru.suse102.x86_64[20061215-222706] Establishing atom:MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Marking MozillaFirefox-2.0-30.i586[20061215-132707] as uninstallable due to conflicts over MozillaFirebird from MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Marking MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] as uninstallable due to conflicts over MozillaFirebird from MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Establishing atom:MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] MozillaFirefox-2.0-30.i586[System packages] provides MozillaFirefox == 2.0-30, but is scheduled to be uninstalled. MozillaFirefox-2.0-30.i586[20061215-132707] provides MozillaFirefox == 2.0-30, but another version of that package is already installed. Can't satisfy requirement MozillaFirefox == 2.0 for MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0-30.i586[System packages] atom:MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] needed by patch:MozillaFirefox-2418-0.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Installing atom:MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] atom:MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] needed by patch:MozillaFirefox-2418-0.noarch[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Installing atom:MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] MozillaFirefox-2.0-30.i586[System packages] replaced by MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.1-0.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] Can't install MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0.0.1-0.1.x86_64[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates], since MozillaFirefox-translations-2.0.0.1-0.1.i586[SUSE-Linux-10.2-Updates] is already marked as needing to be installed Marking this resolution attempt as invalid. -----] end of pasted text Some hints for this to work: 1. uncheck all the Mozilla-* stuff 2. uncheck the supertux stuff 3. install the new proposed packages (some libs) After that the online update procedure went just fine. Anyway, the pending updates show up in the list again and again... :-S Cheers, Martin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
