Don't know how to fix the problem, but PLEASE unsubscribe from every mailing list. Otherwise, your vacation program will send an e-mail to the list for every e-mail sent, which will send another for the e-mail sent. You can see the infinite amount of e-mails that will get sent. Usually the mailing list server will stop it at a few hundred, but you will not be the most popular person on the list when you get back from vacation. Thank you, Jim On Thursday, July 18, 2002 10:26, Silvia Nieto Santos wrote:

Actually - vacation is more intelligent than that. It keeps a database of who it has replied to, and will only do so once. However, it certainly is the "Right Thing"(tm) to un-sub' from all lists prior to vacation'ing.

Remember that database I mentioned? You have to initialize it. /usr/bin/vacation -I then vacation will send one and only one response to any address, until you re-initialize it. -- The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think.

Yes, also following in .procmailrc could help it: :0 chw * ^TO_mmj@mmj.dk | vacation mmj That way only if you're in the To: or Cc: field a vac message is sent. -- Mads Martin Jørgensen, http://mmj.dk "Why make things difficult, when it is possible to make them cryptic and totally illogic, with just a little bit more effort?" -- A.
