[opensuse] A Different Problem with Nvidia
Hello! After several years with 11.3, I bit the bullet and did a clean 12.3/KDE install. All went well, except that the only resolutions available are 640x480 and 320x240. Are we back to editing Xorg.conf? (I installed the default drivers which gave me 1024x768; the Nvidia driver gave me the former worse situation.)FWIW, I have a GeoForce 8500 GT and a 24" LG screen which does 1920x1080@60Hz. Oh, for the good old days of Sax2 ... Any ideas? Daniel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Daniel Summary:
The two nvidia routines did not help (you can get at them through the main menu; you may need to change the the nvidia-config entry to run as root). With xrandr, I was able to change the screen size but not (so far) the dpi. man xrandr is very terse. It looks like it's going to be a "suck it and see" job. Considering how easy it was to do these things up to 11.x, I wonder if I haven't missed something very fundamental. D
