I think there are a couple of die-hard DEC users on here. I just saw that AdvFS has been opensourced. http://advfs.sourceforge.net/ I haven't used it in close to 10 years, but I used to think that was a great filesystem. If this gets ported to Linux, it will be one more true enterprise class FS for linux. Nice to see them still coming. It probably won't be ported to Linux but rather used as a mine of knowledge for file system developers. This was also the intention of HP when releasing AdvFS as open source. So you're much more likely to see details of AdvFS in future file systems like betrfs. You are probably correct, but there are a lot of guys who used to work at Spitbrook Rd. who are very active in Linux. While HP is not going to port it directly, some of the old AdvFs guys might. Yep, it's still a great FS, there was an online petition to release the code of TruCluster, but Advfs alone is better than nothing... Ciro -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
