I have recently formatted the linux partition from the Win2k. This time Linux installation didn't detect the correct model of my monitor as it had done in my very first installation. I run Linux 8.2 Prof. Why that happened? My monitor is NECT MultiSync LCD1560VM ------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.mail.gr/ - Get Your Private Free Email Address! http://www.ringtone.gr/ - Ringtones & Logos for your mobile!

Who can say? Have you changed the monitor or graphics card between installations? Assuming you have a working installation (since you can send mail) it is easy to use YaST's Hardware>Graphics card and monitor module to enter the monitor manually.
