Greetings, I apologise if you got this twice, seems I am experiencing smtp problems. In 9.2 I could disable the user password using passwd -d <username> 9.3 doen't allow this, I need this feature for a specific terminal I run, Would it also be possible to setup an autologin in runlevel 3 ? Yes terminal based not X based! :) TIA -- -- Chadley Wilson Production Line Superintendant Pinnacle Micro Manufacturers of Proline Computers ==================================== Exercise freedom, Use LINUX =====================================

In any case, it is not all that straightforward, but once you get it set up
to open a specific port, (eg virtual terminal 2 == /dev/tty2) you should
expect that change to translate to future versions. IMHO, this is probably
a better solution than setting a specific user to be able to log in without
a password.
