Hello I am wrighting about my modem.for some resone under SuSE(5.2) It cannot *see* it.I ran pnpdump > /etc/isapnp.conf then I edited it properly and ran isapnp /etc/isapnp.conf and it says it says both boards my creative awe64(value) and my 36.6 davicom modem. But still it says it does not work.i'v tried numberious dialing
programs
wvdial, seyon, minicom nothing "opens" wvdial autodetcts modems and all but still doesn't detect it. I have no idea why this maybe :| if you hadn't guess i'm a newbie to this.
Another note is that to install suse i had to use the kernel with pci bios access disabled.the other one would reboot my system for some resone...
any suggestions/info would be greatly apreciated Well, I've had simular experiences.. My ISA PnP modem worked fine. I went to Windows 95 to see what it saw it as (com 3 irq 4) and told Linux to use the same and it worked. As far as the PCI modem, I just gave up. Put a ISA 56 v.90 in and bang... it worked..
