HI all... In 9.0 and earlier I had a small plugin that would make the borders of a picture look like a stamp. I need it now and can not remember the name of the file in YAST to add. Could some kind soul tell me what file to install for this? I believe that the script is called Stampify or something like that. TIA! Hi Richard et al... Thanks for the web site. BUT now two questions. #1 Has SuSE took these plugins out of the 5 CD set? I was able to use YAST to install a whole set of plugins. #2 I d/l'ed the plugin, "now what?" I cannot figure out how to set this up. There is ZERO docs on this. Thanks, JIM On Tuesday 17 August 2004 18:11, rkimber@ntlworld.com wrote:

RE: #2
It depends on the type of plugin (assuming gimp2, replace
things for gimp as required):
*.scm: just put it in your ~/.gimp-2.0/scripts directory
*.c: run gimptool2.0 --install
Hi Jim et al.... Thanks for your help, but the script I have is "stampify.pl" and I can not get it to work in ANY gimp dir. To be honest this is the VERY WORST SuSE that has ever been put out. I've had nothing but problems with it. Any more ideas? Thanks, JIM On Wednesday 18 August 2004 19:12, Jim Sabatke wrote:

lots of *.c files: run ./configure, then make, then make install You can also install them to the system gimp directories. The above was for your user directories. If you have a single user system, it doesn't matter where they go.
Enjoy!

First ... I am using SUSE 9.1 and can not find "stampify.pl" anywhere. If this is not a part of SUSE, it would not seem fair to use it as a reason to judge the distribution. Now... I entered "stampify.pl in Google and immediately found this: --------------------- From Google ----------------------------------- Very timely. I got perl-gimp working on my machine yesterday, and tried stampify.pl almost immediately. It failed due to the gimp_edit_fill($layer1); problem mentioned yesterday. I changed that to gimp_edit_fill($layer1, BACKGROUND_FILL); and then it failed due to the gimp_channel_ops_offset($layer1, 1, 0, -($diameter / 2), -($diameter / 2)); I changed this to gimp_drawable_offset($layer1, 1, 0, -($diameter / 2 ), -($diameter / 2 )); The script could still use a little tweaking, I think, since I can see some subtle problems I think I could fix, but it is now working. Thanks! --------------------- End Google ----------------------------------- Google is MY friend ;-) So ... it looks like you would need Gimp-Perl for version 2 of the Gimp for this (or any *.pl plug-in). I'm not sure, but I don't think this existed when SUSE 9.1 was released. It is, however, available on the Gimp site now. You would most likely have to download this tgz, compile, and install as I can't find an RPM file for it (version 2 is new after all). Now make the above changes to the script and install it. There is additional information in the README and docs for Gimp-Perl. HTH, Louis
