I set all default pdf handling to kpdf (ocular if you don't have kde3 still install). I suspect that kmail uses the default pdf setting and since kmail is basically a front end to konqueror or whatever browser you have set as the default in your application defaults, there is a good chance that you are actually calling the adobe plugin from kmail. Check your default applications.... I find I live better without acrobat installed. kpdf does a marvelous job in handling all pdfs (except those edited or modified by Acrobat Pro) -- David C.
