In SuSE YOU there is an option to "remove source packages after Update". Is there any reson _not_ to activate this option? Does "source packages" refere to all RPM's installe via YOU? Where can I find the packages already downloded and installed, so I can delete the RPMs? -j -- My baby daughter loves Linux! http://idun.sandsgaard.dk/archives/000564.html http://idun.sandsgaard.dk/archives/000556.html http://idun.sandsgaard.dk/archives/000563.html

If you have more than one machine to update, you can dowload them once and then apply them to more than one machine.

Yes
Where can I find the packages already downloded and installed, so I can delete the RPMs?
/var/lib/YaST2/you/mnt/i386/update/8.2/rpm/i586 on my machine, make relevant changes to path for yours if necessary Dylan -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin

I only have one machine runnning SuSE (9.0), and they are taking up space i my /var partition. Is it safe simply to delete the installed RPMs by hand? I got: janus@sputnik:/var/lib/YaST2/you/mnt/i386/update/9.0/rpm/i586> ls coreutils-5.0-90.i586.patch.rpm cron-3.0.1-824.i586.patch.rpm fontconfig-2.2.1-58.i586.rpm fontconfig-devel-2.2.1-58.i586.rpm gdm2-2.4.1.6-92.i586.rpm gnome-filesystem-0.1-80.i586.patch.rpm gnucash-1.8.7-0.i586.patch.rpm gpg-1.2.2-121.i586.patch.rpm kbd-1.08-51.i586.patch.rpm kdebase3-3.1.4-48.i586.patch.rpm kdebase3-kdm-3.1.4-48.i586.patch.rpm kdebase3-ksysguardd-3.1.4-48.i586.patch.rpm kdebase3-nsplugin-3.1.4-48.i586.patch.rpm kdebase3-samba-3.1.4-48.i586.patch.rpm k_deflt-2.4.21-144.i586.rpm k_deflt-2.4.21-166.i586.rpm kdelibs3-3.1.4-38.i586.patch.rpm koffice-1.2.92-67.i586.rpm kopete-0.7.3-1.i586.patch.rpm kopete-0.7.3-8.i586.patch.rpm mpg123-0.59s-404.i586.rpm openssh-3.7.1p2-18.i586.patch.rpm openssh-askpass-3.7.1p2-18.i586.patch.rpm openssl-0.9.7b-71.i586.patch.rpm perl-5.8.1-81.i586.patch.rpm pinentry-0.6.9-133.i586.patch.rpm qt3-3.2.1-56.i586.patch.rpm screen-4.0.1-33.i586.patch.rpm suselinux-userguide_en-9.0.0.0b-27.i586.patch.rpm sysconfig-0.23.30-39.i586.patch.rpm tcpd-7.6-638.i586.patch.rpm tsclient-0.120-90.i586.rpm xf86tools-0.1-751.i586.patch.rpm XFree86-4.3.0.1-29.i586.patch.rpm XFree86-server-4.3.0.1-29.i586.patch.rpm xscreensaver-4.12-62.i586.patch.rpm yast2-packagemanager-2.8.35-0.i586.patch.rpm yast2-storage-2.8.20-0.i586.patch.rpm -j -- My baby daughter loves Linux! http://idun.sandsgaard.dk/archives/000564.html http://idun.sandsgaard.dk/archives/000556.html http://idun.sandsgaard.dk/archives/000563.html

yes, no problem. But the other files scattered under the .../you/ directory need to be kept Dylan -- "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin
