But shouldn't that change? One of my favorite OS's, BeOS 5, allowed for a single file upgrade to 5.1. I haven't seen that innovation duplicated in any other OS. This aspect of YAST should be changed so that OpenSUSE users can always be ahead of the curve today instead of tomorrow. This is what I proposing. Boxed upgrades for Pro. and downloadable instant upgrades via YOU or Red Carpet. Is there a reason ( technically ) that makes this an impossibility? Is it possible to just upgrade OpenSUSE through YOU from now on?
No, but YaST -> System Upgrade should be possible with beta2.

No, but thats not a problem. The problem is that you simply dont get the concept :) We (The openSUSE project) develop on a distro (SUSE Linux). At the moment we develop on the version 10.0 of SUSE Linux. Once it gets released you will get YOU updates and the development continues on 10.1. Like this: ==> [ devel 10.0 ] ==> [ release 10.0 ] ==> [devel 10.1 ] ==> [ release 10.1 ] ==> | | ==> [ 10.0 + YOU patches ] ==> [ 10.1 + YOU patches ] So if you want to be ahead of the curve today you just follow the flow instead of dropping out and use a released version.
