KDE 3.0.2 YOU update breaks kppp
SuSE 8.0 with latest KDE 3.0.2 patch from online update: I've seen this on two different machines. My kppp dialup to work was fine until this update, but now I get "Can't open options file /etc/ppp/peers/kppp: No such file or directory" when I try to connect. Tried to build that file myself, but then I get "unrecognized option 'passwordfd'", which is not among the options in peers/kppp. How do I get out of this mess? -- ======================================================== Glenn Holmer (gholmer@ameritech.net) -------------------------------------------------------- "Mere force is useless against people who are neither cowards nor fools. I had the same problem here. You have to the following line to /etc/ppp/peers/kppp: plugin passwordfd.so it worked for me. good luck, fred

Thanks, that did the trick. -- ======================================================== Glenn Holmer (gholmer@ameritech.net) -------------------------------------------------------- "Mere force is useless against people who are neither cowards nor fools. It got me too. The contents of /etc/ppp/peers/kppp should be plugin passwordfd.so and then it will work. I get that same error in the console log while I'm dialing. It does not
prevent me from dialing but, I have noticed that it came after the Kde 3.0.2
update.
