Fwd: [Blt-newuser] SUSE 9.1 Personal ISO
Just read this article on another list and think it is of interest for us too. "Departing from its past practice of not providing ISO images for free download, SUSE has released a complete, bootable, and installable ISO image of SUSE LINUX 9.1 Personal. You can find it on SUSE's main FTP server or one of its mirrors, although there is no news about the release on SUSE's own web site. This is a great way to try out SUSE LINUX 9.1 and see its capabilities, before upgrading to the Professional edition via FTP or purchasing the full boxed versions (which includes commercial software). Download from here: SUSE-9.1-personal-x86.iso (700MB) or try one of the official SUSE mirrors." http://www.distrowatch.com/ http://www.suse.com/us/private/download/ftp/int_mirrors.html -- Henry White Registered Linux User: 47722 hwhite5@tampabay.rr.com _______________________________________________

Amazing. I never thought I'd see this happen. Now I can convert my Fedora and Mandrake using friends over. No more excuses about it being to expensive or non-free..etc. :) Very cool. -- "There is no need to teach that stars can fall out of the sky and land on a flat Earth in order to defend religious faith."

Yes, it's great. But I wonder why SuSE does not promote the initiative on their website. Any idea why not? Janus -- Roskilde University, Denmark. Department of Technology and Social Science. International Development Studies. ESST - Society, Science and Technology in Europe.
