KWallet: Lost Password
Hi, I've setup my machine yesterday, and somehow managed to loose my KWallet password. Nothing important in it yet as I was only playing. How do I either retrieve the password, or alternatively destroy the current wallet and create a new one? I have root access to the machine. Thanks Nico

What Is KWallet?
KDE's password manager that lets you store password for various applications and web sites so the only password you have to remember is the one for kwallet. There are upsides and downsides to it, the upside would be that you don't have to do as much typing of passwords, the downside is that if a hacker gains access to your wallet he has everything, and if you manage to lose your kwallet password you have nothing. It's also much easier to forget your passwords if you don't use them regularly

look for a file with the extension *.kwe (I believe it is, I can't check it now) in your user environment ($HOME/.kde/share/{config,apps/kwallet}) Have that file removed and kwallet will work again. -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
