[S.u.S.E. Linux] Taper Seg Fault Under SuSE 5.2
Everytime I run Taper under SuSE 5.2, the thing seg faults right at the beginning of the backup. Thinking it was a problem the older version of Taper included with 5.2, I downloaded the newest stable version 6.8.4 and compiled it. Same problem. This happens with both the dynamic and static linked versions. I used Taper for months on OpenLinux 1.1 and 1.2 with no problem. Anyone have any clue as to what's going on here and why it dies under SuSE? TIA Donald E. I don't run taper but the full version of Bru 2000 I have works excellent
under SuSE 5.2. FYI. Is your drive a SCSI or IDE ? Some more info would help.

I used the PE version of Bru 2000 and it works fine under SuSE. Problem is I no longer have it as I installed it from my COL 1.2 CD's which I've lent to a friend that lives across country! So, until I get the CDs back, I need a reliable backup under SuSE. (I had to do a reinstall of SuSE). My drive is a Conner CTMA-4000 IDE drive. Like I said, I've used Taper under COL 1.1 and 1.2 with no problems, so it's really frustrating to have it not work under SuSE.
