[opensuse] Image viewer
Hi list, I need some image viewer for basic operations with my photos. I tried JCDsee, gthumb and some other viewers, but I didn't find one to satisfy me. The main criterias for me is: - fast. don't hangs when creating directory thumbnails - have some possibilities for images edition (contrast, exposure, etc.) - batch processing What viewer are you using? Maybe Picassa would suit what you want to do? http://picasa.google.com/linux/ C. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
Hm... I didn't think about it. But picassa creates damn huge index for photos. on widoze after indexing all my photos it was about 1,5 Gb. It's ok, but useless disk usage... Clayton wrote:

display from ImageMagick is the fastest that fits your criteria. However, if you prefer a better GUI, I suggest showimg: http://www.jalix.org/projects/showimg/ It uses the kipi-plugins: http://extragear.kde.org/apps/kipi/ for image processing. Like Clayton mentioned, Picasa from Google. It works great, has most of the features one needs and does a decent job of outputting to the web. JDD mentioned Digikam, which is also very good. In fact, I believe it has some more durable tools than Picasa does. Either will work great for you. My only reason for using Picasa over Digikam is I like the web layout it provides (makes things brain dead easy for me) and it works on Wintendo as well, so I can use it on my 2K/XP machines as well as my SUSE machines. -- kai www.perfectreign.com || www.4thedadz.com www.filesite.org || www.donutmonster.com -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
