I have a problem with my home network. It is working quite well with a Realtek 8029card/hub combo, but I only get 10mb.
The other boxes on the network have 100 mb ethernet, but to get them to work, I have to force 10 mb, or nothing works.
I've tried a Realtek 8039, a 3Com, the Via-rhine integrated in my motherboard, and a Myson Surecom EP-320x-s, they are all recognized and installed in SuSE 8.1, I can ping the server, but no other computer on the network.
Can anyone please help?
The 8029 is a 10MB adapter, so maybe there's a problem with what your hub supports. Pls give some more details on that. It has to be a *switching* hub in order to work at dual speeds simultaneously. That means, that if it is a *repeating* hub one 10 MB client might force the whole hub to work at 10 MB. The 3Com Officonnect DualSpeed Hub for instance has an internal switch between the 10 and 100 MB segments, so it will support both clients simultaneously. /Henrik
