Re: [SLE] MP3 player
I use KDE. I can see /media/dvd in the playlist, but I cannot change this to /dev/dvd. Ok about the not clicking. How do I change that /media/dvd to /dev/dvd ?.
Just add /dev/dvd to the playlist, and remove /media/dvd - it's quite simple
I can see libogg, but not oggec ?.
I have also installed the FM plugin from the net since it is not on
Sorry, typo by me - oggenc the DVD.
Am I needing a hardware card now, or can I play FM via the software.
I didn't say an FM plugin, I said a Real Audio plugin, you can get it from ftp://ftp.xmms.org/xmms/plugins/rmxmms/ -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1). I just choose the /media/cdrom, and it works.

No, it's an XMMS plugin - so you want to put it in /usr/X11R6/lib/xmms/Input and restart XMMS Then just select Play Location and give it the URL of a real stream of your choice - eg, BBC Radio Five Live is http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio5live/live/surestream.rpm -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1). Fine I will. By the way I did not have the SDK, but I downloaded it. I have problems implementing it: eurit:/opt/rmasdk_6_0/samples/intermed/testplay # make -f make/linux-2.0-libc6-i386-gcc2.95.mak if test -d rel; then echo; else mkdir rel; fi if test -d rel/obj; then echo; else mkdir rel/obj; fi make: *** No rule to make target `../exadvsnk.cpp', needed by `rel/obj/exadvsnk.o'. Stop. What is being said here ??. Thanks for your help.

The problem means it's trying to use a function called atexit but can't find the library that provides it. And what's the name of the .so file ?. Ok about the problem. Next question what can I do about it ?. It also show lots of: rel/obj/exsitsup.o: In function `ExampleSiteSupplier::Release()': rel/obj/exsitsup.o(.text+0x691): undefined reference to `operator delete(void*)'

This is what you need... You don't need to have RealPlayer open, the point of the plugin is that it allows xmms to play Real Audio format streams & files. Do you need to use a proxy server to access web servers? If so, have you set it in the xmms settings? -- James Ogley, Webmaster, Rubber Turnip james@rubberturnip.org.uk http://www.rubberturnip.org.uk Jabber: riggwelter@myjabber.net Using Free Software since 1994, running GNU/Linux (SuSE 8.1) GNOME updates for SuSE: http://www.usr-local-bin.org

Oh good fine, but xmmx doesn't play FM. I entered the URL you sent me, and choosed ok.

That is also the idea I have.
Do you need to use a proxy server to access web servers? If so, have you set it in the xmms settings?
No I do not need proxy. But why the heck isn't xmms then not do FM radio ?.
