[opensuse] Sound stuttering heavily
Hi, since I installed openSUSE 11.4 sound is stuttering heavily. When the music is playing (e.g. a FLAC file with Amarok), it sounds as if my computer isn't capable of decoding the sound file fast enough. I have the same effect with different media players (Kaffeine, SMplayer, Amarok), Phonon backends (GStreamer, VLC, Xine) and file formats (FLAC, MP3). The same happens when playing a video on Youtube with the Adobe Flash Player within Firefox. I'm running openSUSE 11.4 with KDE and packages up-to-date. Everything worked fine under openSUSE 11.3. I investigated the problem further. It looks like it's the performance of KDE. I disabled the desktop effects temporarily and now everything sounds fine. I think I will open another thread concerning the performance problems on "opensuse-kde". Thanks all the same!
