I have a ps/2 mouse but would like to use USB mouse but had the same problem on Inspiron 8100 with USB. PS/2 works though along with synaptics pad. Could you maybe post both solutions? Hi,
I will appreciate help in configuring an IntelliMouse on a Dell C400 laptop. I also would like to be able to continue using the mouse pad.
I have an external USB Logitech optical mouse working fine along with the touchpad and trackpoint on a Dell Inspiron 8000. You may have to manually tweak your /etc/X11/XF86Config file. I can post the relevant sections of my file, but I'd like to know if your Intellimouse is USB or PS/2 because it makes a difference on what mouse protocol to use in XF86Config.
