[opensuse] Repository search page problem
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm trying to search for a newer smartmontools package than the official one for Leap, as the current one has problems with one of my disks. So I use the Firefox search thing for openSUSE packages, and it takes me to a changed search page. First URL is: <https://software.opensuse.org/package/smartmontools?search_term=smartmontools> Clicking on community packages for 15 one, I see a few, so on the line for " home:plater" I click on "expert download". This takes me to a confusing page: <https://software.opensuse.org/download/package?package=smartmontools&project=home%3Aplater> but apparently it is asking to select openSUSE or SLE (what, doesn't it already know from the preceding page?). More confusion, and I click on "Add repository and install manually". This opens a list for all distributions, and I find this paragraph: For Leap 15.1 run the following as root: zypper addrepo https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:plater/Leap_15.1/home:plater... zypper refresh zypper install smartmontools So I do: Isengard:~ # zypper ar -k -f -n "OBSH Platter" "https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:plater/Leap_15.1/home:plater..." There is a report bugs link, but it takes to github login, which is not an openSUSE link, thus obviously the wrong place. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R. I assume you are talking about the "Report Bugs" link which leads to https://github.com/openSUSE/software-o-o/issues/new This link is _not_ wrong - actually it's exactly the place to report bugs in software.opensuse.org ;-) Regards, Christian Boltz -- "Kann mir jemand seine Erfahrungen mit dem Gigaset Router schildern. Sorry, I'm not going to register on an external site to report bugs on opensuse pages. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Did you select 15.1 first or not? I did and it immediately tries to download smartmontools.ymp If I cancel that and then (and only then) it...

I have no intention of downloading anything so I crop the URL to the directory level and display it in my browser. i.e. https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/plater/Leap_15.1/ It's then pretty clear what's going on, I think.

I did not omit anything. I said, click on "show community packages" under 15.1, then at the right of "home:plater" on expert download, then on "openSUSE", then on add repository and download manually manually, then go to 15.1, and copypaste the output there.
Does '15 one' mean 15.1? If so, why not say that and avoid the ambiguity?
Don't you ever make typing mistakes? I intended to write "15.1 one". The one is a replacement for the word "link".

No. That is not a select button, it is an autoinstall button.

Not that road.

That the page shows the wrong command, it has a mistake. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.1 x86_64 at Telcontar)
