no sound in kde 3.2 till I start Yast2 soundconfmodule
Hi, I upgraded KDE to 3.2 using the Suse packages for 9.0. Since then I have no sound when starting kde. However if I open the soundcard module in yast all the sounds that seemd to have been piled up play and from then on till the end of the session it runs smoothly? I have not found any messages in messages, or warnings, so where do I have to look to find out what's wrong, or even better does somebody know a solution? Cheers. Sven

I had a loss-of-sound problem that was solved by running alsaconfig (as root). It may or may not help solve your problem. Paul Abrahams

Thaks, that was it, running alsaconf solved the problem!
This tidbit definitely belongs in the SuSE knowledge database. Paul Abrahams
