Haia After all the misery in trying to get a (Multi) cardreader to work, I'm going to try now with just a single SD Cardreader. Anyone has something like that successfully running with SuSE 8.2? Your help is much appreciated because I live in the middle of the South Pacific on an island with no shops. (everything has to be ordered overseas). -- Greetings from /bill at 169 west , 19 south. I have a 6-1 card reader that works great, bought locally (Philippines). It shows up as Direct Access brand. I have only used the Smartmedia slot so far (sdb1), but it works great with hotplugging setting up the drive (though /var/log/messages shows a lot of errors relating to the empty slots), and susewatcher putting a drive icon on my KDE desktop for easily mounting and unmounting. It actually worked "out of the box." -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Does the reader appear to be recognized by the system? for at least one slot? I have a 4-card reader and each slot appears as a scsi LUN. Only the first slot would show up when I plugged it in until I told the system to access the other LUN's (logical unit number).

I use a TwinMOS GoGoEgg - tiny little thing but works well for MMC/SD cards. It is simply recognised as a removable disc under 8.2 (mounts at /media/sda1).
