[SLE] Sharing load among several systems
Hi there, I would like to be pointed in the right direction for the following project I have got : I want to share the load of several hundred request on my internal web server onto several , rather cheap machines. The intranet application does 90% queries, 10% update/insert in a database. my goal is 1:reliability (by far the most important), then 2:speed/processing power. So, if one of the machines dies (e.g. hardware failure) I want the remaining machines to automatically share the load. I have heard about clustering but I have a feeling that it is not exactly what I need as I understand that it is able to distribute some bits of the same application along several CPUs. Any ideas ? What you're actually looking for is "load balancing" rather than "clustering". Hi, Is there anybody who use NetBeans 2.1 ? I have some problem with it. When I start the Tutorials or some Help from the Help menu the application freezing after it shows the 'browser'. I have to kill it and start over to continue. I have the jdk1.1.7 installed. Can anybody help me out? -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
