I have had great luck with the Netgear MR314 802.11b router. I used to have a wired Netgear RT314, I just replaced it with the wireless router (MR314) and configured it in the same manner as I had the RT314 and it worked flawlessly. I use the Netgear wireless cards for my laptops (both of which are Windohs). My linux server never moves, so I kept that box wired. I don't have a large house, but with the router on the main floor, I have a decent link on all floors of the house. I don't know about Linux hardware support for the notebook cards unfortunately. I'm guessing that 8.1 with 2.4.19's kernel would support most mainstream cards. Josh
