[opensuse] What has happened with mysql-community-server?
The latest Thumbleweed upgrade replaced my mysql-community-server-5.6.36-2.2.x86_64 installation with mariadb. mysql-community-server is not available anymore in official Thumbleweed repositories. Why? zypper ref; zypper dup --no-allow-vendor-change [...] The following 6 NEW packages are going to be installed: kernel-default-4.11.6-4.4.ge566a4a libjemalloc2 libthrift-0_9_3 mariadb mariadb-client python2-atspi The following 6 packages are going to be REMOVED: kernel-default-4.11.6-4.3.ge566a4a libmysql56client18 mysql-community-server mysql-community-server-client mysql-community-server-errormessages python-atspi [...] It took my some time to downgrade mariadb to mysql-community-server. Personally I would like to see mysql-community-server in >= 5.7.18 version instead of MySQL 5.6. The compilation problems for MySQL 5.7.x on openSUSE are fixed with 5.7.18, but there is some packaging work to do. Who is interested?
