I'm not very happy with the default install of Kmail and Konqueror and was wondering what everyone else uses. Can anyone recommend a better mouse trap for linux. I am a newbie Also I'm looking for a weather program that will put the local temperature down by the clock. Thanks...

Right click on the panel: Add --> applet --> KWeather Then right click on the KWeather icon to configure it to your local airport. -- +----------------------------------------------------------------------------+ + Bruce S. If you say what you find difficult/awkward about KMail and Konqueror, people might be able to give more targeted advice. FWIW, I use Gemini for email and news (http://www.intellegit.com/), and firefox for web (on the 9.1 discs). Previously I used evolution, but was unhappy with the SPAM filtering which was based on discrete keywords. Mozilla mail was OK, but now I've switched to mozilla thunderbird which also has excellent SPAM filtering. Perhaps you can do a freshmeat.net search, lots of weather stuff there, may be one will suit your needs. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer Linux Only Shop.

I use KMail and Konqueror. What's wrong with the default install?
Can anyone recommend a better mouse trap for linux.
Why? Please explain.
I am a newbie
That can be fixed. Takes a while though... ;P Cheers, Leen
Hi, You can add KWeather to the panel. Right-click an open area, click Add > Applet > KWeather. You’ll have to configure it for your locale. HTH, Rocky lrdv@direcway.com (LeRoy DeVries), 6/3/04, -0600, 6:20 AM

Thanks however, there is no Applet for Kweather. Also no software program in YaST2 for Kweather or any other weather program. On Thursday 03 June 2004 11:34, you wrote:

Hi, That’s interesting ... Take a look at kdetoys3. It comes up in YaST when I search on “kweather.” Happy Hunting, Rocky lrdv@direcway.com (LeRoy DeVries), 6/3/04, -0600, 12:22 PM

you have to install the package kdetoys first. That is where kweather lives. I personally like kmail / konqueror I use firefox for browsing (brow some people like evolution (outlook clone) some people like thunderbird (mail part of mozilla) or just mozilla for both browsing and email...
