Re: [SLE] cdrecord has some writing problems

As all the burn program do not function (always get an

With the command: cdrecord -v -eject -dummy -speed=2 dev=0,0,0 myimage .iso everything went fine. The light on the cdrom tray blinked as expected ------------------------------------------- Is your drive a old one? Speed=2 seems to imply it is. If so I guess it is a problem with your cd-rw is the problem and not the software. Also check the CD and see if it has a imperfection.
I use the command that you are using about once a day without a problem. My drive is a CD-RW with ide-scsi control speed=24. -- Afraid that you are right. Have the cdrom already somewhat longer but never burned (because in dos that is difficult) and hoped that finally in Linux I could do some necessary burning of foto's etc. As I mentioned, I got the bulk of my jpg foto material on a cd. It worked once and now using cd's bought together with that cd in a set of five I have only misses (with all the other four ;-(). They are from TEAC and said to be for 1-16x speed. Before I run to the computer malls and start sampling cdr's, are there some products I should stay away from, are there cd's which are known to accept very slow and problematic iso files ;-). Buying a new cdrom is for the moment out of discussion ;-(.
The -force command which I will now include as standard, shows me that it takes the drive a lot longer before it decides to close down with the message that nothing was burned ;-). At least now I get the impression that the drive really tried to burn ;-) -- NTReader v0.36w(P)/Beta (Registered) in conjunction with Net-Tamer.
