I would like to try out XD2 but I have heard horror stories about it messing up KDE. Has Ximian fixed this or is there a way that I can take precautions so that things do not get too fubared? Thanks in advance! Marshall

I don't know what stories you've heard, but it won't touch your KDE. AFAICR it has never touched KDE. The only thing it does that you'll notice in KDE is that it will clear the Desktop and put all your kde icons in a folder called "Old KDE Desktop". It's very easy to drag'n'drop them back to the desktop later if you want

Cool Anders! Thanks! I am going to give it a shot. I got plenty of aspirin in case something goes wrong! Marshall

It will install red carpet and start up the rcd even if you don't install it via red carpet. I'm a little annoyed to find it does this without telling you it is going to install it (it does it if you are just installing evolution as well). Peter
