[opensuse] Libreoffice unusable on Leap 15.1
It has no menu, I can do nothing. How do I restore the menu? Right click on the icons area does nothing. There is a cog wheel on the right hand panel: no restore menu thing. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. did you upgrade to 15.1? if so, perhaps a local configuration that doesn't fit right with the new install. if not, perhaps the libreoffice install failed, remove including local configs and reinstall. -- (paka)Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA @ptilopteri http://en.opensuse.org openSUSE Community Member facebook/ptilopteri Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://linuxcounter.net Photos: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/piwigo paka @ IRCnet freenode -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No, totally fresh install for testing purposes of 15.1 Beta. I did copy over mozilla, but not the .config directory that hols LO. Deleting ~/.config/libreoffice and trying again [...] Nope, same thing, no menu. I don't even know what version it is: there is no help/about menu to ask. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. If you launch it as: % SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen sofficedoes it fix it (except changing the look&feel, it should look like an X server default gui)? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, I get a tiny menu on the top when I open a file, and tiny icons in the tool bar.
Sorry, does that mean that it works and looks normally (well, as normal as the classic X11 UI can look) and just the scaling of some or all elements is wrong, or does it mean that still not all UI elements are present? If the former, do all the buttons, etc. work?

As far as I can see, all elements are there, but the menus use a very tiny font, and the icons are tiny. The menu thus becomes hard to read, the vertical traces of some of the black letters have a bit of color. The contents of the documents seem right. Things like the file open menu look weird (small, no preview), but I don't know if version 6.1 is like that or is due to the classic X11 UI look. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. It turns out that, while searching for the "Application Menu" panel applet I clicked instead on "Appmenu Plugin", which doesn't display or does anything that I can see, so I thought that nothing had been added, that it did not work, and continued searching for a desktop panel menu that I liked. Well, this plugin interferes with Libre Office and hides or kills its menu. Go figure. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R.
