Anyone know if this is just a temporary issue? Failed to fetch ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.1-i386/base/pkglist.sax2 Unable to fetch file, server said '/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.1-i386/base/pkglist.sax2.bz2: No such file or directory. ' I checked and the file isn't there. It looks like apt won't work without getting all of these files. try an apt-get update, then try whatever again. Tom

I had the same problem, tried apt-get update and the problem remains. It seems like something broken in the apt-get repository. Guillermo -- Guillermo Ballester Valor gbv@oxixares.com Ogijares, Granada SPAIN

It has been incorperated into the xfree86 component, togehter with the XFree86 4.3.0 rpms. If this happens again, check the link below for changes in the apt repository components; http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.1-i386/examples/sources.list.FT... -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless
Hi, Thanks Richard!. I've substituted 'sax2' by 'xfree86' in '/etc/apt/sources.list' file and just now I'm downloading some Xfree86 rpm packages Guillermo. On Sunday 02 March 2003 22:35, Richard Bos wrote:

http://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/8.1-i386/examples/sources.list.FT... Well I could have said, remove the component "sax2" and add the component "xfree86" to the sources.list file. That's maybe easier to understand... ;) -- Richard Bos Without a home the journey is endless

Yeah, that's better! I already removed sax2 from the list while going through my (somewhat painful) kde upgrade to 3.1. -- John LeMay KC2KTH Senior Enterprise Consultant NJMC | http://www.njmc.com | Phone 732-557-4848 Specializing in Microsoft and Unix based solutions
Should I drop sax2 if I'm still on 8.0? I'm having problems upgrading from KDE 3 to 3.1. Tom On Sun, 2003-03-02 at 20:15, John LeMay wrote:
