Re: [SLE] Verizon DSL

Ok.......I had assumed that's all it did/does. Verizon, of course, says they don't and won't support Linux. I said, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. It'll work." :)
Actually they do. I did have an issue on install with my mom's system - something was wrong with the transceiver. I called Verizon, and told them she was on SuSE 9.2. I had to hold for awhile then was transferred to their Linux/Unix group. After having me run some tests from the command line, they determined it was a hardware issue and shipped out a new box that day. -- kai ponte www.perfectreign.com linux - genuine windows replacement part

Yes.........and it all is done via someone reading off of a monitor. ;) The Linux "answers" could be made available to the tier 1 people just as easily as the MAC and 'Bloze material is. Now that Verizon is FINALLY making DSL available in some of our areas, anyway, I will be busy replacing 'Bloze with SUSE, as there are a number who have Net. access via Directway.....it's been their only choice for broadband access. I'm going to enjoy this year, I think. :) Fred -- Paid purchaser of ALL SuSE Linux releases since 6.x
