Chasis intrusion detection???
When using sensors on my SuSe 7.3 I get "Chasis intrusion detection" I have no idea what this is and if it is something to work on. Can somebody give me a hint?

Dear Lissa, Thanks for the information. It seems still strange because this big case, an original AT case is closed. Do you know where sensors gets its information? Is it the original little lock which is already long nonactive.
If I remember correctly, the chassis instrusion circuit has to be reset in the BIOS. Once you open your case, the system marks the chassis as open. Since many corporations would (hopefully) set a SETUP password on the BIOS, you "couldn't" reset it, and the technician would be able to tell you popped the case. Check your BIOS for a chassis intrusion reset option... .....or your motherboard has a connector for 'Chassis Intrusion Detection', but there is no cable attached to this connector, and hence it seems like the intrusion switch is open (= chassis off). The correctness of this explanation demands that a chassis intrusion switch is a NO type switch (normally open), so that the switch closes when the chassis is properly closed. I don't use this function with my own motherboard, so I'm not sure. Happy New Year! Best regards, David List
