[opensuse] 42.3 isn't EOL, is it?
I tried to install 42.3 on a new disk and could my distribution medium says it cannot open http://dow3nloaqde.opensuse.org/leap/42.3/repo.oss. It therefore could not get any updates. I have tried for two days. Is there an explanation for this? Don -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Same sort of problem. 1) All repositories have been cleaned up. 2) Then Retrieving repository 'Main Repository (OSS)' metadata never completes. The Retrieving line just repeats, so I gave ^c. Removing yast2 as an appropriate type happened months after 42.3 release IIRC. I can't remember type rpm-md for any OSS or Non-OSS repo working when I tried it before TW or 15.0betas. This seems to be a mirrorbrain problem of not working suitably for your western North America location. Try renaming the current two files for OSS and Non-OSS as backups, and use the two I am attaching (thanks to Patrick for the howto) as the .repo names they contain. At least one of th URLS each contains should solve the hanging. Both the provo http://provo-mirror.opensuse.org/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/oss/suse/x86_64... and gtlib http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/opensuse/distribution/leap/42.3/repo/oss/sus... mirrors I would expect to work. They both open for me in web browsers, so ought to work normally with zypper.
Same sort of problem. 1) All repositories have been cleaned up. 2) Then Retrieving repository 'Main Repository (OSS)' metadata never completes. The Retrieving line just repeats, so I gave ^c. Leave OSS and Non-OSS set to yast2. -- "Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Whatever else you get, get wisdom." Proverbs 4:7 (New Living Translation)
