According to the above, after installing grub on "Root" of /dev/sdb I shall reboot with DVD and should select "Boot Installed System".

However there is a small problem here, I didn't see *any such option* available when I booted with the DVD.

Install SuSE DVD and reboot Select installation After installer comes back with language settings and is ready to continue, hit ABORT. click ok on install failed THEN it gives you a chiose of booting installed system.
