Making a SuSE Live-USB (on a pendrive)
Hello everyone! maybe you already know some answers to my question, so please point me to the right resources... I need to create a SuSE Live-USB (bootable pendrive, that is) but all I can find on the internet/google is related to either Knoppix or any other Debian-like distribution. For SuSE I've found http://www.safepoint.nl/tech/USB_pendrive.html but doesn't bring me any futther. And http://www.damnsmalllinux.org which seems to be a idea but sticks to 2.4.x kernels and I need the 2.6.x series. Of course, it must be possible to add/remove software packages to fit some needs. Any ideas/suggestions? TIA, Martin

TIA, Martin =========== Martin, Have you taken a look at SLAX? Many of the several LiveCDs will fit on a single 3.5" cd (~200MB). I've not looked for instructions as to how he manages that so well, but there may be answers on the site or by asking the developer of SLAX.
By the way, one of the best LiveCDs I've yet to use. Check here: http://www.slax.org bye, Lee

What's the difference between a "live-OS" on cdrom/dvd or on a USB-stick? If remembered correctly it was presented last FOSDEM: have a look at: http://forge.novell.com/modules/xfmod/project/?livecd http://forge.novell.com/modules/xfmod/project/?livecd-druid Hans -- pgp-id: 926EBB12 pgp-fingerprint: BE97 1CBF FAC4 236C 4A73 F76E EDFC D032 926E BB12 Registered linux user: 75761 (http://counter.li.org)
