I use a serial mouse (Microsoft 2 button) and using the kernel that was installed by Yast, it works with no problems. I built a new kernel using including the serial devices option under Character devices (Nice new interface for xconfig by the way) but i don't get any response from the mouse. None at all. GPM doesnt seem to have an effect - the mouse cursor is not displayed on the console - and in X (KDE) the mouse pointer is displayed but no movement. I believe it's a kernel thing because the mouse is okay when the 'install' kernel is used but not when my kernel is used. However this is not happening so i'm asking for help. ...and anything on PCI soundcards will be nice too. :-) Clifford .o. -- Well i know we're dying and there's no sign of a parachute...
