Re: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Java crashes Netscape
And, yes, the subject is true - if I have Java enabled and go to a page that has Java, it crashes. If I disable Java in the browser, it works fine. I tried Communicator 4.04 (which comes with SuSE 5.2) and then upgraded to Communicator 4.05, both with the same results. I thought about getting rid of Java-binary support and see if that will help but I hadn't heard about it interfering with netscape anywhere else.
Netscape 4.04 was doing this with my 2.0.32 Kernel for a while, and I upgraded to 2.0.33 and had java as a module. I don't think the module is automatically loaded when Netscape runs, and there are only a few java things that will crash Netscape now, not all. Try as root: bash>lsmod if it list the java module then: bash>rmmod java and see if the netscape crashes with Java enabled Jonathan -- =========== =========== Jonathan Paul Cowherd jpcowh01@slug.louisville.edu <A HREF="http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01"><A HREF="http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01</A">http://www.slug.louisville.edu/~jpcowh01</A</A>> This is my world and I am...
