To a person who doesn't know whether or not the system's login history is recorded, a single-word reply is probably not very helpful. The command is called "last" and there is a man page for it. By default (no arguments or options) it shows, in reverse time order, all the logins that have occurred back to the last time the pertinent log file was rolled over. If you give it a user name it will show only that user's logins. If you give it a tty name (absent the leading "/dev/" portion) it will show only logins that occurred on that tty. Also, without arguments crashes and reboots will be displayed.
