[opensuse] wireless monitor?
Hi all, Occasionally I have to scan for available wireless networks. What I need is a scanner, that shows me what networks are available, their signalstrength, channel, mode (a/b/g/n). And more, if possible. Anyone have experience with programs? My laptop has Intel 5100 wifi, running 11.1. Should be easily done from command line with 'iwlist' -- Bogdan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Yes, that works. ATM I have 8 networks visible here, to compare I have to scroll up through the console. I would prefer a graphical presentation, though.

I believe airodump-ng (part of aircrack) will display all the info you are looking for as well - pretty similar solution to kismet: http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=airodump-ng airodump-ng will display a list of detected access points, and also a list of connected clients (“stations”).
